New Manufaktur — BUBEN&ZORWEG

New Manufaktur

BUBEN&ZORWEG opens landmark Manufaktur with Private Showroom in Pforzheim

BUBEN&ZORWEG has completed its new state-of-the-art Manufaktur and Private Showroom in Pforzheim, Germany, setting a new benchmark in the engineering and craftsmanship of high-security safes, watch winders and bespoke masterpieces that combine both areas of expertise. Located at the gateway to the Black Forest on a 5000 m² site, the purpose-built 2,500 m² facility is architecturally and functionally shaped around the brand’s three guiding principles: German engineering, fine craftsmanship, and extraordinary design. Built in three distinct sections, the structure mirrors the dynamic interplay of principles, competencies and teams. At its heart lies the handcrafting space, where the highly artistic processes unfold. It is flanked on one side by engineering and design, and on the opposite side by logistics – a concept that reinforces the flow between innovation, creation and delivery.

Architectural concept

The location houses BUBEN&ZORWEG's world-class teams in engineering, design, manufacturing, quality, logistics and marketing, alongside a striking flagship store.  Reflecting the brand’s proud mark of quality Made in Germany and the company’s longstanding ties to the Black Forest region, the project’s appointed contractors were Stuttgart-based architects Esslinger-Deitermann and Pforzheim-based building contractors Pfirmann. The building’s architectural concept, materials and design are an extension of the BUBEN&ZORWEG philosophy which uniquely blends three core principles - German engineering, fine craftsmanship and extraordinary design. Split over three sections, the structure echoes the interplay between them. At the centre of the building lies the Manufaktur, where the highly artistic manufacturing processes take place. Engineering, design and logistics flank either side. A façade of contrasts, comprising traditional German clinker brick, chosen for its durability and sustainability, combined with glass, give the building a distinctive, contemporary feel.
